Childhood cancer remains one of the most heartbreaking health battles faced by families worldwide. Every year, thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer, including aggressive forms like brain tumors, leukemia, and neuroblastoma. In response, community leaders and businesses are stepping up to support research, treatment advancements, and family support services. Among these leaders is Maggie Garcia-Taylor with Nationwide Insurance, who has taken a powerful stand in the fight against childhood cancer.
Maggie Garcia-Taylor is known in her community not just for her dedication to providing reliable insurance solutions, but also for her compassion and commitment to charitable causes. Recognizing the devastating impact childhood cancer has on families, she has partnered with local and national organizations to raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research.
Through her Nationwide Insurance office, Maggie actively supports campaigns that:
Raise critical funds for pediatric oncology research
Provide financial assistance to families burdened by treatment costs
Offer emotional and logistical support to parents navigating their child’s cancer journey
Childhood cancers, especially brain tumors, often require aggressive treatments, long hospital stays, and specialized care. Despite advancements, funding for pediatric cancer research still lags behind adult cancer funding, limiting breakthroughs in safer and more effective therapies for children.
Nationwide Insurance has long upheld its commitment to giving back, and agents like Maggie Garcia-Taylor embody this mission. By hosting fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and donation drives, they create meaningful impact far beyond their daily business operations.
If you feel inspired to support children fighting cancer, there are several ways to get involved:
Attend local fundraising events hosted by Maggie Garcia-Taylor and Nationwide Insurance
Volunteer with pediatric cancer support organizations in your community
Make a donation to children’s brain cancer research to fund groundbreaking treatments and bring hope to families
Thanks to dedicated leaders like Maggie Garcia-Taylor and the Nationwide Insurance team, the fight against childhood cancer continues with renewed strength and compassion. Their efforts remind us that real change happens when local businesses, healthcare advocates, and community members unite for a cause greater than themselves. Every dollar, volunteer hour, and act of advocacy brings us closer to better treatments—and ultimately, cures—for the youngest and bravest fighters among us.

Family and Friends, On January 20, 2011 was the darkest time in our family’s life. We had just lost our Eli and had an unspeakable pain in our hearts. One day the Mayor of Oxford, Geoffrey L. Henry called and told us something that truly honored us. He wanted to proclaim March 1st as ELI MATTHEWS DAY in Oxford! He created a proclamation on February 21, 2011. We were so touched that he would honor our angel in this way. We are so excited that so many people have come to support this day in our town. We love driving around Oxford and seeing all the signs and billboards with Eli’s name on them. I would like to ask all of you reading this that own a business no matter the State, or Country you live in to post “March 1st Eli Matthews Day help fight childhood cancer visit www.BraveEli.com” on your sign. Eli touched so many people in his life and even now continues to do so from Heaven. March 1st is quickly approaching. We hope that you will all continue to support this day by wearing red and black which were Eli’s favorite colors! Thank you all so very much for your continued support, kind words and prayers. They mean so much to my Family.
