Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Duet – Angry all the time – 21 March 2012

Oh how this touches my heart. Back in August of 2011 Austin and I went to see Tim McGraw in concert. I took Eli’s story with me with the words written at the top that said “Dear Tim I share this story about our Angel Eli with you not for donations but to please read with Faith”. I explained that Eli loved his music, and would often try to hold the note to the song “live like you were dying” I had it wrapped around the wristband that Eli designed. I was able to give it to his back stage Manager that promised me Tim would get it. Well in this youtube Tim is wearing Eli’s Wristband on March 21st while in concert. Our Angel Eli is smiling down from Heaven on this.

Meghan Guerrera Goes BALD to carry out Eli’s wishes to find a cure for childhood cancer!!!!

Hello!

My name is Meghan, and I grew up in Oxford, Pennsylvania. All throughout high school, I was touched by Eli’s story and his selfless devotion to finding a cure for childhood cancer. Although I did not know him personally, I can honestly tell you that his battle was fought with a most positive attitude. After his passing, the reaction by my entire community and so many others thrilled me. Everyone came together, in various ways, to carry out Brave Eli’s wishes to find a cure for childhood cancer.

I am currently in my second semester at Temple University, where I now intend to carry Eli’s aspirations to find a cure for childhood cancer even further. On May 1st, 2012, I invite you to join me on Temple’s Liacouras Walk at 6:00 PM for the shaving of my hair, whereupon the trimmings will be donated to Locks of Love. I have been considering this for quite a while now, and I regret that it was not until my own family was affected by cancer that I finally decided to go through with it. To me, it’s just hair that will grow back. It would make me happier to see it go to a child who needs it more than I do. I know it would make Eli happy as well. I pray that my new look will be accompanied by a generous donation to the Eli Seth Matthews Leukemia Foundation, Inc. Whether you can or cannot attend this event, I ask that you please consider making some contribution. Any amount can make a difference! Please send your donations to
Eli Seth Matthews Leukemia Foundation, Inc. (Make the check out to the same)

Please write in the MEMO block “Meghan Goes BALD”.

Thank you everyone!

Meghan Guerrera

**Hi this is Paul Matthews Eli’s Dad, when Meghan told me about what she was going to do this touched my heart. It’s not your hair that makes you beautiful it’s your heart. I asked every person reading this to find it in your heart to donate no matter how big or small. I set a goal of $3,000.00 we can do this. Not only will Meghan’s hair help a child fight cancer the money raised will help carry out Eli’s wishes to find a cure. Please will you help?

Flapjack Fundraiser 100% Success

To all of our family and friends that came out today for our first Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebee’s in Kennett Square: We want to thank you for making it such a big success. We had around 225 people show their support today in this fight against childhood cancer (Leukemia). We also wanted to announce that we raised $2,170! We will only win this war together as we carry out Eli’s wishes to find a cure. We had lots of help setting up. OAHS Future Business Leaders of America showed up to be our servers as well as Alison McDougal Distenfeld, and her daughter Sophie. Sophie was our youngest helper! She is so amazing and is just 9 years old and asked her mom weeks ago if she could make her own decision about what to do today the 25th. Her mom asked her what she wanted to do and she said instead of going to my swim meet I want to help Eli instead. Now Sophie trained hard for her swim meet, but it was more important for her to help Eli. WOW!!!!! This is heart warming…. thank you Sophie. I am very impressed with the decision you made! The (FBLA) made today a flawless event, making it look easy. Meghan Harvey is amazing! She got her team together and off they went. I’m so thankful to all of you for doing so well. You would have thought you all had done this before! And to my son Austin…. thank you for being by my side as we carry out your brothers wishes to find a cure. Every person that came to the event today we now consider an “Eli Warrior” in this fight against childhood cancer. See you next year! bELIieve it or not, I have already scheduled next years event and it will be the Saturday before March 1st, February 23rd. The reason for this is, March 1st is Eli Matthews day in Oxford, PA, as proclaimed by our Mayor. I ask you all to spread the word, and wear red and black that day, Eli’s favorite colors, in Eli’s memory and honor. Thank you, Eli’s Dad.
